April is Volunteer Appreciation Month! Our organization, the Esplanade Association, will be hosting at least seven cleanup events during this week, all located on the Charles River Esplanade. Discounts are offered for Military, AAA, AARP and other organizations. When not working in the Charles River parklands, Sasha enjoys gardening, reading, movies, and hiking. Events last for 3-4 hours and usually start in the mornings around 9AM. One of the oldest and largest volunteer sampling programs in the country, the Volunteer Monthly Monitor program has allowed us to create one of the most robust water quality databases in the nation to help us study ecosystem health, track pollution sources, and identify and advocate for solutions for a cleaner, healthier Charles River.
